Dear Diary,               Today is a very difficult day and I feel as if there are worse days coming. What happened today was that I  believed bathing was one thing to do today. Playfully I was squirting water at Piggy and by mistake at his specs. But than Piggy noticed the not so pleasant whether which was very cloudy and looked as if it was going to rain. Soon we started to wonder where everyone had gone off to but we soon came to realize that they have went to Jack's party. I was upset that they had left just for some stupid meat. Of course I was uneasy because they all believe they are a tribe because they put war paint on. Piggy and I went over to the party Jack was holding, Piggy and I went to see how the events were and to just check up on things. At the event it seems as if everyone is having a blast. Dear Diary, All the boys were happy about killing the pig. Yet, my leadership was questioned by no one other than Jack himself. I had no idea why he would question it. I soon came to realize that all he wanted was to become chief instead of me. Jack told all of the boys that I am a coward which was a lie. Jack then wanted to vote on who will be chief  and told all of the other boys to vote. To my surprise no one did vote for me to step down as chief. Jack wanted to become leader so much that he left all of the others including myself. He even wanted all of the other hunters to join his tribe. He is now bribing others with meat so they may join his tribe. Which would probably leave me with nothing and no one. Just when I was in doubt Piggy then comes to comfort me. He than tells me an idea that lifts my spirit which is we should make another signal fire but not on the mountain rather on the beach. I feel so much more uplifted with hope that P...

Dear Diary, Today I did something that I never thought that I would ever do. That I always thought was completely wrong and insane to enjoy. But before we get to that part I'll tell you from the beginning of what happened today. I wake up every morning to an island that we may or may not be rescued from. No one really listens to what I have to say anymore. I am getting so frustrated with everything and my hair isn't really helping either. I have a lot to think about and I just feel as if the ocean is an impenetrable wall from any hope of be rescued anytime soon. But Simon makes me feel so much more better about being rescued. The hunters found pig feces on the ground so of course Jack wants to hunt the pig and search for the beast. All of the boys include on going on the hunt even me, the excitement of the chase is amazing. I then throw my spear at the boars snout but doesn't kill the boar. even though it didn't kill it great emotions come flooding ...

Dear Diary,   The day has started off to be insane. War was happening in the sky, and it was a dog fight between two other planes. While everyone was sleeping. Some didn’t even know what was going on in the sky. A plane had come crashing down, and a man fell out of his plane with a parachute but the man was dead.   Sam and Eric were supposed to check on the signal fire but of course they drift off to sleep. Sam and Eric finally woke up to tend the fire and to make it brighter. They both then mistook a man who has fallen for the beastie. They both hurry to the camp grounds and they tell everyone what they saw. They say they saw the beastie and it has long claws etc.   Everyone then thought the man was the beastie because he was hanging in the trees. The reason why everyone thought he was the beastie was because whenever the wind comes, and goes the man will rock back, and forth with his parachute. Dear Diary, Today I had a lot to think about. I was walking along side of the beach thinking how to lead all of the boys to safety and how to be a good leader for them. I had called an assembly to talk about all the failures that had happened on the island so far. Also how they all are complaining about how they have to go to the bathroom in different places across the island. Or gather water for everyone who needs to drink.   I am so upset that my hair has been so tough to control lately and how it is so tangled all the time. I am trying to the best of my abilities to make sure everyone knows that the beastie is not real. The littluns lately have been frantic about the visons they have of the bestie. Everyone on this island does not help as much, and don’t pull their weight around the island unlike some. In the story a conch shell is made as a symbol. The conch shell represents civilization amongst the boys on the island. The use of the Conch shell to the boys is who so ever holds the conch shell in an assembly in his hands may speak. No one may interrupt anyone who is speaking except for Ralph because he is the chief. Sometimes this does not work because the others wouldn't let Piggy speak in an assembly. The beastie is another symbol in this story. The beastie represents fear among some of the boys. Ralph does not believe in "the beastie" because he thinks that it is the littluns figment of their imagination. Simon believes that it may be "them" because he believes everyone can be mean or evil. Jack is determined to kill the beastie when he comes across it.   The fire is one other symbol in this story. Dear Diary, Something terrible happened today on this island. As Simon, Piggy and I saw a ship pass by the island an idea came to all of us that we should hurry and use Piggy's specs to light a fire to use as a signal. I have told both Sam and Eric to tend the fire but to my surprise they left and joined Jack in hunting a pig for its blood and meat. The fire then burned half of the mountain down. At this point my blood is boiling and I don't know how to feel about Jack anymore. We had a chance to be rescued by a ship that was passing by the island. Jack had to go and ruin it all for the rest of us who are stuck on the island. Piggy and I confront Jack for what he has done, and what gets me so irritated is that he doesn't even care about us getting rescued.
