Chapter 10

Dear Diary,
I have no words of the event that took place last night. I'm in complete shock and possible denial. Piggy and I met on the beach we both have all types of injuries on us. We both feel completely awful both physically and emotionally. I feel completely filled with guilt right at this moment, Piggy is trying to convince me that we didn't commit the murder. We both know that we did murder Simon on that night.




I had the conch in my hands but I couldn't help but laugh all of a sudden. I keep telling Piggy that we have been apart of the murder of Simon. Quickly Piggy just brushes the charge off of his shoulders. Only Piggy and I are left everyone else has gone off to join Jack's tribe even a handful of littluns and his tribe is located at Castle Rock. Jack finally got what he asked for with absolute power he rules. I knew that Jack was plotting to attack me sooner or later but the question on my mind was when.



Every one that was left in my own group have drifted off to sleep. I could tell everyone was depressed about Simon dying that we all just lost hope in the signal fire. As I was going to sleep I keep seeing nightmares over and over again. All of a sudden I hear howling and shrieking and we are soon attacked by Jack's hunters. The hunters beat all of us really badly and the ones who stayed with me were beaten for absolutely no reason they all would've shared fish even if they joined Jack's tribe. But than Piggy knew the reason which was the hunters came to steal his glasses.

After Ralph looks up at the Naval officer he soon comes to realize with joy that he wouldn’t have died. As Ralph and the other Naval officers heard screaming and feet running towards the beach The officer drew his pistol and Ralph hid behind him. In shock Jack and his hunters dropped their weapons. Everyone who was left on the island was extremely happy to know that they would all be rescued. Dear Diary,               Today is a very difficult day and I feel as if there are worse days coming. What happened today was that I  believed bathing was one thing to do today. Playfully I was squirting water at Piggy and by mistake at his specs. But than Piggy noticed the not so pleasant whether which was very cloudy and looked as if it was going to rain. Soon we started to wonder where everyone had gone off to but we soon came to realize that they have went to Jack's party. I was upset that they had left just for some stupid meat. Of course I was uneasy because they all believe they are a tribe because they put war paint on. Piggy and I went over to the party Jack was holding, Piggy and I went to see how the events were and to just check up on things. At the event it seems as if everyone is having a blast. Chapter 8

Dear Diary, All the boys were happy about killing the pig. Yet, my leadership was questioned by no one other than Jack himself. I had no idea why he would question it. I soon came to realize that all he wanted was to become chief instead of me. Jack told all of the boys that I am a coward which was a lie. Jack then wanted to vote on who will be chief  and told all of the other boys to vote. To my surprise no one did vote for me to step down as chief. Jack wanted to become leader so much that he left all of the others including myself. He even wanted all of the other hunters to join his tribe. He is now bribing others with meat so they may join his tribe. Which would probably leave me with nothing and no one. Just when I was in doubt Piggy then comes to comfort me. He than tells me an idea that lifts my spirit which is we should make another signal fire but not on the mountain rather on the beach. I feel so much more uplifted with hope that Piggy has given me.
